Bristol Bay’s Powerhouse Salmon Economy is Worth $1.5 Billion Per Year
Bristol Bay, Alaska is home to the world’s largest and most valuable wild salmon fishery. These are the people who earn their living in the Bristol Bay salmon economy. A new report shows that the commercial sockeye fishery created more than 10,000 full-time jobs across the country (which includes more 12,000 summer seasonal jobs) and generated an astounding $1.5 billion in value across the country.
